The whiteness of teeth are determined by two factors: genetics and colour contamination that occurs in day to day life. Teeth whitening can be done by either laser treatment, or using the new Zoom II technology. Laser whitening involves using a pen-like laser to lift stains and create a whiter smile, whilst protecting the teeth using a chemical gel. Laser whitening generally lasts up to 2 hours, with prices starting at $110.
Teeth can also be whitened using Zoom II technology. This treatment provides patients with a whiter smile in less time than laser treatment, however due to the high cost of equipment treatment prices start slightly higher at $200. Whiting gel is first placed on the teeth, then the zoom technology is used to activate the gel and remove discolouration.
