It is recommended that you have a dental check up between 2-3 times a year (even if your teeth appear healthy). Through a general check-up, dentists will be able to detect early signs of tooth decay, gum disease, gingivitis, periodontitis, fungal infections and cancer lesions for example. Other abnormalities, including overbite, underbite, crooked and crowded teeth, lack of space for teeth and missing tooth gems can also be helped by regular check ups; early detection will assist in reducing treatment time and costs. General check-ups are free, however if the patient requests a 3D scan this will come with an added cost.
